*Please Note: The American Citizen Services Unit will be open only for emergency services on the second and last Friday morning of each month as well as the third Thursday of each month. The Embassy is closed on American and Guatemalan federal holidays. As of September 22nd, 2008 the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala City will provide the following services by appointment only: reporting the birth abroad of a child of a U.S. citizen, first-time passport issuance, renewal of passports for minor children under the age of 16, renewal of passports for applicants who are over 18 years old and whose previous passport was issued before the applicant turned 16 years old, and replacement of passports issued more than 15 years ago. |
