2009 Diversity Visa Lottery Program
Guatemala, October 1, 2007
Guatemalans will not be eligible for the newest version of the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program (DV-2009), for which registration will start on October 3. This program is limited to countries from which fewer than 50,000 people have immigrated in the previous five-year period. This year for the first time Guatemala has exceeded this number. However, this program has never been a significant source of immigrant visas for Guatemalans, with the maximum annual number of such visas issued being 12.
