Immigrant Visas
General Information
All persons who plan to travel to the United States to establish permanent residency must obtain an immigrant visa prior to entering the U.S. The process for all immigrant visas, other than the Diversity Visa Lottery process, begins with the Department of Homeland Security in the U.S., or in limited cases with DHS at the embassy. While the immigrant visa application process can seem confusing, the applicant bears the responsibility for assuring that they comply with all requirements. Please read the information in this section with care.
