Expedited Appointments
For Business Travelers: When the wait for an interview is 3 days or more and a person has an urgent need to travel for business, he or she should buy a phone card or a PIN and call the call center. He or she should tell the operator of the need for emergency business travel. The business traveler should then be able to receive an immediate appointment. Please DO NOT call the embassy requesting an expedited appointment.
In order to qualify for an expedited appointment, the business emergency must be a specific event such as a conference, a meeting, or a training class. Only the individual business traveler may come to the emergency appointment; the family of the traveler cannot be interviewed at that time.
For Students: If your program of study begins soon and you need an expedited appointment in order to start school on time, please buy a phone card or a PIN and call the call center. When you explain your situation to the operator, you will be given a priority appointment as soon as possible. Please DO NOT call the embassy requesting an expedited appointment.
