Message of Appreciation for Expressions of Solidarity after Hurricane Katrina

Guatemala, August 30, 2005

The Embassy and the Government of the United States want to express their deep appreciation to the people and Government of Guatemala for the multiple messages and demonstrations of solidarity due to the flood and disasters caused by Katrina in the southern part of our country.

These proofs of solidarity contribute to strengthen the ties of friendship and appreciation that exist between our two countries.

We Americans are moved by the support Guatemala has demonstrated.
