U.S. Permanent Representative to OAS to Visit Guatemala

Ambassador John Maisto is one of several panelists invited to participate in the seminar on governability organized by INCAE that will take place March 6 and 7, in Guatemala City.

Ambassador John Maisto will arrive in Guatemala to participate in the seminar “Democratic Governability and its Challenges” organized by INCAE Business School. Ambassador Maisto is one of the panelists to speak on “Political Vision of Governability”, scheduled for March 6 in the afternoon. Attendees to this seminar also include high level officials of the Guatemalan Government and national, international organizations, former presidents and public officials of Latina American countries, and directors of the private sector and the Press in the region.

Ambassador Maisto, who has a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, will also visit his Alma Mater, Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala (University of San Carlos), where he graduated with a Master’s degree in Latin American History. He will meet with USAC’s Rector Luis Alfonso Leal Monterroso and USAC’s Advisor for International Affairs, Jafeth Cabrera. Afterwards, Ambassador Maisto will address a group of about 100 students and professors of the School of Political Sciences, and members of the Fulbright Association, among them, the Director of the Political Science Research Institute, Carlos Freddy Ochoa.

Ambassador Maisto’s agenda also includes meetings and interviews with directors, journalists and columnists of the Guatemalan Press.
