Types of Non-Immigrant Visas

Visas for Minors

Children under age 18 who are applying for visas should follow all the normal steps for soliciting a non-immigrant visa.

Additionally, both parents must accompany the child to the interview. The parents should bring their passports and one other form of official photographic identification, and they should bring an original birth certificate, as well as evidence of the family’s economic and social ties to Guatemala.

Adoptive parents should present a legal copy of their adoption papers when requesting visas for adoptive children.

Children over the age of 18 must qualify for a visa independent of their parents. If they are full-time students, they should present evidence of enrollment and other ties to Guatemala.
